Prologue
Is life really as fragile as people say it is? Does it really hang from a string and can be taken from you at any moment?
Well, I think "at any moment" is a bit exaggerated but yes, life is very fragile.
We, as humans, are weaker than we look. We could easily break our bones or catch a deadly disease. And to make things worse, humans have made ways to make life even more vulnerable such as guns and weapons of that sort.
I know this from experience. A year ago, I was shot in the lower stomach and I almost died in the process. Doctors say it was a miracle I survived.
When I tell people this, their reaction is always the same.
They usually gasp and say, "Oh my god, really?! How did it happen?!"
I answer, "I was shot trying to save a someone's life."
I say nothing else.
The nosy people try and talk me into telling them the whole story. Only the people who were involved know the whole story and I would like to keep it that why thank you very much. It is not something one likes tell recount. Anyway, this isn't about the past. There is always a time in life when we must leave the past behind and look ahead. This is my time. My time to live my life to its fullest and I am not looking back.
