You... probably haven't heard of him, he only has two books so far. They are called, respectively, The Dante Club and The Poe Shadow. Don't exactly know how to describe them, they're both quite different. The first is a murder mystery involving a bunch of classic poets--in fact, the first Americans to translate Dante's divine comedy, most notably Henry W. Longfellow. And... yeah, it's really good. And in the other one, this guy who happens to be a young lawyer is trying to investigate the... mysterious circumstances surrounding the premature death of Edgar A. Poe.
They may sound kind of boring, but... they're really really not. If you guys are at all interested in Dante, Poe, Longfellow, J. R. Lowell, Oliver Wendell Homes (senior), or maybe just a good book that is not like anything else out there... you should read 'em. Yup.

Those actually sound really interesting. NOT boring, in other words. And though I've never heard of him at all, I shall look into them...
